Job Description:
Duties As a MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR (SSC), WG-5703-9, you will
perform the following duties: (1) Serves as a Small Shop Chief
performing all of the following tasks: (a) Plans and lays out work
to be accomplished in the shop which is then completed by the
individual and lower graded worker(s). (b) Possesses the knowledge
and skills found at the journeyman level as well as those required
for planning, accomplishing and maintaining a functional shop
maintenance program. (c) Independently determines appropriate
maintenance procedures such as how and when the work should be
accomplished. Estimates manpower, equipment and material
requirements. (d) Devises and maintains all program plans and
records, is skilled in surveillance and troubleshooting techniques,
and is able to determine maintenance/repair procedures needed
without benefit of technical supervisory guidance. (e) Plans,
organizes and directs shop maintenance programs/procedures under
general supervision. (f) Determines approaches, methods and courses
of action required to accomplish the mission of the shop in an
effective and efficient manner. (g) May provide recommendations and
input to the supervisor concerning personnel actions such as
performance appraisals, awards, position description changes,
disciplinary actions, leave, etc. (2) Performs the same type and
level of work as performed within the unit. (3) Performs other

Requirements Conditions of Employment Ohio Army National Guard
Membership is required. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be
registered for Selective Service. Federal employment suitability as
determined by a background investigation. May be required to
successfully complete a probationary period. Participation in
direct deposit is mandatory. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible
military grade and assignment required within one year of the
effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position
that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the
employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently
a member of the Ohio Army National Guard must be eligible for

through E-9 For positions requiring the operation of motor
vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for
the state in which they live or are principally employed. For
positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the
applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one
year of appointment. Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE : Experience
or training which demonstrates the ability to follow instructions
and safely operate the type of equipment required to accomplish the
duties of the position. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Experience or
training which demonstrates the ability to operate and perform
operator maintenance on straight-in-line trucks which typically
have an approximate gross vehicle weight of more than 32,000
pounds. Experience demonstrating ability to operate truck tractors
with semi-trailers or full trailers and motor coaches. Experience
operating vehicles over a variety of roads including interstate
highways, narrow country roads, and on steep winding grades.
Experience driving vehicles without mishap in complicated traffic
situations. Education This job does not have an education
qualification requirement. Additional information ***If serving
under an incentive contract, termination of that incentive(s) will
occur effective one day prior to your AGR, Permanent Military
Technician, or Indefinite Military Technician start date. Temporary
Military Technicians will have their incentive terminated if their
